Adding Events To Your WordPress Calendar

  1. From the Dashboard, navigate to Events>Add New.
  2. Add an Event Title.
  3. Give the Event a description in the WYSIWYG editor.
  4. Event Time and Date:
    • For All Day Events: Under the Events Calendar section, specify if your event is an all-day-event by marking the check-box
    • For Events with a start and end time: specify a start and end time (**note: only a start time is required)
  5. Event Location Details:
    • This section is not required; however, it is helpful to your potential audience.
    • For New Locations (never used this location on the website)Fill out the location details for the event. Make sure to check “Show Google Map” and “Show Google Map Link” (on by default).
    • For Previous Locations (location used before on the website): Under “Used Saved Venue” choose an event from the drop-down list.
  6. Event Organizer Details:
    • This section is not required; however, it is helpful to your potential audience.
    • For New Organizers (never used this organizer contact on the website): Fill out the organizer details (**note: not all fields are required)
    • For Previous Organizers (organizer details used before on the website): Under “Saved Organizer Details” choose an organizer from the drop-down list.
  7. Event Cost:
    • Enter the cost of the event if any (**note: this field is not required)
  8. If you have “Event Categories” in place, pick the appropriate one from the “Event Categories” box on the right-hand side of the page.
  9. Click the “Publish” button from the Publish box on the right-hand side of the page.
